The Cooksound Festival takes place at the Couvent des Cordeliers in Forcalquier, one of the oldest Franciscan convents in France, built in 1236 on the site of a former Benedictine priory, in this city which was once the capital of Provence.
Monks' expertise is at the wellspring of the town's water development plan and therefore the characteristic fountains of Forcalquier, housed in the shade of the plots, at the bend of an alley in this village clinging to the side of hill.
Destroyed after religion wars, rebuilt but sold as national property in 1791, the monastery is left by monks.
Became municipality property, we can contemplate the cloister with its wonderful and magnificent medieval garden, the deck with its panorama, and the church’s remains.
